Willoughby Municipal Court Divorce Records

Divorce case files detail the official end of a marriage and document the subsequent financial, property, and custody settlements. Divorce is part of family law and beyond the jurisdiction of municipal courts. Under Ohio Rev. Code § 2301.03, the clerk of Lake County's Domestic Relations Court (a division of the Court of Common Pleas) has custody over marital dissolution records.

Individuals can obtain recordings and transcripts (base cost: $5) of public divorce proceedings even when not a party to the case. The court likewise provides a case information portal which displays case history, including a list of filed documents. Certified copies of divorce or dissolution records are available for pick-up at the courthouse.
